About
Our Story
From day one, SkyHyve has focused on helping schools make better academic decisions, not just produce more data.
Schools had no shortage of data, but it was fragmented across spreadsheets, inconsistent in structure, and rarely turned into statistically reliable insight that could actually guide decisions. In response, we brought together experience from school leadership and deep technical expertise in data and systems to build the foundations of what would become SkyHyve, a system schools could actually rely on. Over time, this became the foundation of our comprehensive School Statistical Suite.
From the beginning, our focus has been on giving educators a reliable way to capture data properly and turn it into something they can act on, so they can make decisions with confidence, knowing the data behind them is sound.
Along the way, we've helped schools bring consistency to their data, simplify internal processes, and maintain continuity through staff transitions. The result is clearer information, less rework, and better decisions over time.
Years of working alongside schools made one thing clear. Even the best analytics in the world are only as good as the data they are built on. In many schools, that data was the weakest link. Kept in spreadsheets. Fragmented across staff. Often inconsistent with what the school's other systems were reporting.
So we built one. The Managed Markbook is SkyHyve's managed, cloud-hosted assessment platform, built to be a school's trusted source of truth for marks. Alongside the School Statistical Suite, it lets us deliver on the from markbook to meaning promise end to end. Data is captured consistently, in one place, and in a structure schools can rely on. Then the analytics turn it into something a school can actually act on.
Today SkyHyve works with schools across the full assessment journey, from capturing marks to making decisions. From the marks a teacher enters each week through to the decisions leadership teams make about support and subject direction. Our mission remains the same. Give schools a reliable foundation for their data and the clarity to make better decisions for every learner.
Leadership
Robert Graham, Managing Director, brings extensive executive and senior leadership experience across leading independent schools in Sydney. He has led school strategy and operations, working within strong governance frameworks and ensuring that systems supported classroom excellence and evidence-based decision making.
Throughout his career, Robert has overseen school information systems, reporting processes, and analytics platforms. He understands how systems shape decision-making, and how their limitations can get in the way of clear strategic thinking. He recognises that markbooks can become compliance tools rather than trusted foundations for data integrity and reporting validity, while school analytics too often remain trapped in surface-level metrics that fail to deliver the deep insight needed to drive improvement.
Over time, Robert came to a clear conclusion: educators deserve better. Schools need dependable platforms that simplify operations and support professional judgement rather than constrain it. Equally important, they need analytics that stand up when decisions are tested, whether in the executive team or the boardroom.
SkyHyve was shaped by his conviction. Robert’s vision is for schools to move beyond administrative complexity into leadership grounded in clarity and confidence. When operations are aligned and analytics are trusted, data becomes insight, conversations sharpen, and strategy becomes purposeful. SkyHyve carries forward Robert’s mission to turn trusted records into decisive action, moving schools from markbook to meaning.
